Minnesotan Plouff Transitions from UTV to PRO-Lite Truck in Lucas Oil Midwest Short Course League; Will Race for Carlson Motorsports and ERX Motor Park in 2019

ELK RIVER, Minn. January 28, 2019 – The growth of short-course off-road truck racing took another step this off-season when Carlson Motorsports and Jason Plouff formed an alliance to help Jason make the leap from UTVs to trucks in 2019. With support from Carlson Motorsports and ERX Motor Park in Elk River, Minnesota, Jason will make his PRO Lite truck debut in the Lucas Oil Midwest Short Course League.

A Minnesota native, Plouff is familiar with his new race partners, having raced UTVs at ERX during the track’s summer grassroots series. The relationship was further cemented when Plouff purchased his PRO Lite truck from Carlson Moto this winter.

“Jason’s a first class guy,” said Chris Carlson, who owns and operates Carlson Moto and ERX Motor Park along with business partner Todd Plaisted. “We’ve been involved in racing for a long time, and when you have an opportunity to grow the sport with someone who shares your passion and integrity, you do it. We wanted to help Jason however we could.”

Jason will be racing out of his own trailer but will be practicing at ERX Motor Park with Carlson Motorsports PRO 2 and PRO 4 driver Andrew Carlson. Plouff will also utilize tuning, data acquisition and set-ups from the team. Jason’s PRO Lite truck will fly Carlson Moto colors and represent many of the team’s sponsors.

“I feel incredibly fortunate,” said Jason referring to the partnership. “To have the support of an established team is huge, and to be able to go out and practice and learn from a driver like Andrew who has won at the highest level of competition…it’s pretty amazing.”

The Lucas Oil Midwest Short Course League kicks-off June 15-16, 2019 at Crandon International Raceway in Crandon, Wisconsin. The tour will make its much anticipated stop at ERX Motor Park in Elk River, July 12-13.
